Dermomed My Moment for social and environmental sustainability

Dermomed believes in the ecodesign principles which require every new product to be studied from the initial concept so that it does not pose an end-of-life environmental problem. Dermomed is committed to optimizing all product formulations and packaging by 2030.

Dermomed is working to implement a process and product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) by 2025 to check the impact of every phase in its product life cycles and also the overall organization.

Formulation without microplastics

Primary microplastics are used in cosmetic formulations to create matte effect, skin texturizing and physical scrubs. However, they are responsible for serious environmental damage. They pollute seas and oceans, and are ingested by many forms of marine life, ending up on our plates and posing a risk to human health.

With a strict research and development process, Dermomed laboratories replaced raw materials classed as microplastics (under Annex VII of the European Commission's Microplastics Act of 2022) with natural raw materials. In this way Dermomed guarantees the same performance as always, eliminating microplastics from its formulas and guaranteeing sustainable products.

RECYCLE, REUSE AND RECYCLED PLASTICS

Recycle, reuse and recycled plastics Dermomed containers are made with at least 30% recycled plastic. All packaging has intuitive graphics for correct disposal.

The Dermomed ECO project is a commitment to finding innovative and sustainable solutions for all products by 2030, such as the mainly FSC paper refill box.

Italian productionand efficiency

All Dermomed formulations are developed in Italian research laboratories and produced in Italy. Development takes place in an efficient, advanced technology environment, also in terms of use of resources. Our facilities use green energy produced by a photovoltaic system that meets part of our energy consumption. Processing water is recycled and reused internally, improving overall company sustainability.

At least 90% of the components of Dermomed formulations contain biodegradable surfactants and materials.
